Responsibilities
Promotes professionalism and interacts with colleagues in a way that promotes a cooperative working environment.
Ensure specimens are obtained in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
Demonstrate proper communication skills to relate pertinent data or information about the patient or laboratory sample to appropriate care provider.
Supports organizational priorities to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Attains required competency and demonstrates the ability to follow procedural directions and protocols.
Able to prioritize and organize workload and assist other coworkers to maintain productivity.
Follows proper protocols for specimen packaging and specimen transport.
Responsible for specimen accessioning as assigned.
Basic computer skills and strong customer service skills
Preferred Job Requirements:
Experience working in the clinical setting
Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience
National Phlebotomy certification through National Heathcareer Association; American Society for Clinical Pathology; American Medical Technologists; National Center for Competency Testing, or American Certification Agency
