Kansas Children's Service League is looking to hire a full-time Healthy Families Supervisor in Overland Park, KS. This position earns a competitive wage of up to $57,000 annually and works a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

The Healthy Families Supervisor provides leadership to the Healthy Families Team, ensuring that children and families receive quality services, and the program meets expectations for the agency, funders, and the national Healthy Families America standards.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Staff Supervision and Program Management

  • Provide 1.5 to 2-hour weekly supervision with Family Support Specialists to discuss families served, review documentation, provide reflective supervision and offer support.
  • Provide timely annual evaluations outlining both strengths and areas of growth; resolve personnel issues; hire, promote and discharge staff as applicable.
  • Develop training plans with staff and ensure that all training requirements for KCSL, HFA, and individual grants are met.
  • Ensure that program service goals and outcomes are met according to HFA standards and individual grant requirements by establishing and monitoring clear expectations for staff.

Community Relations and Development

  • Help support the local KCSL Community Leadership Development Council (CLDC) as requested by Assistant Director and provide opportunities for CLDC members to volunteer with the program.
  • Support and assist with KCSL fundraisers, including helping to market events, share invitations, solicit sponsors, and working at the actual events.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Master's degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families or bachelor's degree in these fields with 3 years of relevant experience or less than a bachelor's degree but with 3 years of experience working in Healthy Families America program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A solid understanding of and/or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility, while providing support to staff in stressful work environments
  • Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment
  • Experience with family services that embraces the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision.

Preferred

  • Infant mental health endorsement
  • Experience with reflective practice
  • Development experience including grant writing and fundraising
