JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Under the direction of the Loan Accounting Manager, the person in this position will be responsible for reviewing, implementing, and administering the functionality of Accounting requirements as they pertain to various Commercial Mortgage Loans.In addition, the administrator will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of Controlled Bank Accounts and monitor the activity of funds within the accounts pursuant to the Loan Documents and administer the movement of funds to the correct accounts via wire/book transfers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Review Loan Documents to decide the specific account requirements and maintain these accounts in RECWeb
  • Facilitate the opening and maintenance of new accounts and establishment of services (i.e. Lockbox, Online access, Remote Deposit) with various departments and banks to match the needs dictated by the applicable loan documents
  • Communicate with closing attorneys, clearing bank personnel and other customers to insure account information is properly disseminated and account structure is understood
  • Interact with various departments regarding the disbursement of funds to Key Bank Real Estate Capital and other Servicers for payment application and to return operating expenses and excess funds to designated accounts in accordance with the Agreement
  • Utilize the Hogan System, RECWeb, Strategy and other forms of reconciliation to insure accurate balances for an assigned Cash Collateral Account are maintained and administered
  • Prepare and review various reconciliations on a daily, monthly and annual basis
  • Coordinate and facilitate the transfer of funds and closing of accounts as needed

MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate work activities with Servicing and Corporate Accounting as necessary
  • Assist other Internal Accounting Departments as required
  • Perform special projects as required

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related business field and/or comparable experience
  • Detail-oriented with ability to see big picture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a high degree of analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, efficiently handling multiple tasks and deadlines

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in commercial mortgage loan accounting
  • Experience in Banking
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in commercial mortgage real estate lending
  • Experience in understanding various legal documents associated with commercial loans
  • Efficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and email software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Team oriented and flexible
  • Analyze issues and seek to improve and simplify work processes
