Job Description

The Quality Engineer III combines a focus in software quality and testing as well as review and analysis of business requirements by ensuring adherence to quality standards and practices defined WellSky. This position is heavily involved in developing and executing a multifaceted testing approach including functional/system testing, automated testing, service level testing, end to end testing, and regression.

A day in the life!

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Testing windows applications, web applications and mobile applications.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment to get test cases identified as early as possible.
  • Finding, reporting, and tracking software bugs through to resolution.
  • Recording and documenting results and comparing to expected results.
  • Detecting software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
  • Prioritizing and managing a large volume of testing projects simultaneously with different priorities and deadlines.
  • Working closely with technical team to document all findings, defects, and requirement variances.
  • Validating production features and functionality against requirement documents.
  • Actively communicating testing status including schedule, risks, issues, defects, and potential impacts.

Do you have what it takes?

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years of related work experience
  • Good understanding of Quality Assurance concepts, practices, and tools.
  • Experience in software testing a clear interest in developing skills within the QA field including experience in the Agile / Scrum development lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of acceptance testing, test case development, execution of test procedures
  • Ability to write and execute acceptance tests and test cases a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with a curious mind for investigating and breaking software.
  • Detail-orientation with the ability to understand how each aspect interacts with the big picture.
  • A solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and programming fundamentals. You do not need to be able to program our systems, but a working knowledge will help you excel in this role.
  • Proven perseverance to carry a set of software deliverables from requirements to testing completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SQL Server skills: Understanding SQL Server and SQL server programming such as stored procedures, user defined functions, views
  • Any experience with automation tools will be nice to have
  • Healthcare industry experience
