Job Summary

The Parts Coordinator manages all stages of procurement and payment of parts, along with the distribution to applicable parties. Additionally the person in this position will manage stock parts inventory, track maintenance department spending and ensure the parts/invoicing program (SAP) reflects correct data.

Job Responsibilities
  • Practice, and be a champion for, safety in every aspect of the position.Follows LEAN practices such as 5S and Kanban to maintain maximum and minimum stock levels with Manufacturing Resources Planning (MRP).
  • Sources parts and evaluates quotes from vendors to ensure success at the Production Facility.
    • Coordinate with vendors to ensure successful rebuilds. Coordinate with scheduling and
      upper management to maximize effectiveness of downtime for line and machine rebuilds.
    • Work concurrently with the planning team to schedule and kit corrective work orders for weekly line maintenance.
  • Interface with internal and external business partners to ensure work is scheduled and performed safely and to obtain required parts and evaluate and track vendors on service and quality of products.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records using inventory management software (SAP).
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish stocks as needed to prevent shortages or disruptions to production schedules.
  • Processes invoice billings, accounts payables/receivables, parts, vendor expense reports, and parts returns to include apply correct credit procedure.
  • Purchase and arrange for disposal of hazardous materials including oil, dry oil and chemicals per federal guidelines and company policy.
  • Tracks and reports Maintenance Department spend against budget.
  • Understand and follow current predictive maintenance plans and support the planning position fully during Maintenance Operations Facilitators absences.
  • Provide training to Maintenance and Production Technicians for related functions of MRP and Vertical inventory control units.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with computer applications including MS Office and SAP, with high level understanding of CMMA software required.
  • Experience ordering industrial machinery parts preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of work experience is required.
  • Experience working with vendors and negotiating product costs for parts, equipment, etc. preferred
  • Prior experience working in a maintenance department preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control and/or parts management required.
  • Working knowledge and/or experience processing Accounts Payable/Receivable actions required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing environment and high-speed production equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of LEAN methodologies and TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) processes, including 5S, Root-Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement practices preferred.
  • Builds collaborative relationships
