Description
POSITION: Aftercare - Independent Living Case Manager

DEPARTMENT: Kansas Foster Care (Kansas City, KS)

Starting Salary: $41,000.00 - $49,000.00 (Annually)

(Starting salary depends on education and experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Aftercare - Independent Living Case Manager reports to the Manager of Independent Living, however, has a high degree of autonomy in carrying out Aftercare case management services for Emancipated youth as required by contract/licensing/funding body/accreditation requirements. Using advanced knowledge of child welfare, the Aftercare Case Manager exercises discretion and independent judgment in making decisions on the overall delivery of services to youth on their caseload. The Aftercare - Independent Living Case Manager will coordinate and partner with the youth, the youth's natural supports, and members of the assigned team to safely maintain youth who have aged out of care with the natural adjustment following reintegration. The Aftercare - Independent Living Case Manager will demonstrate creative service delivery, strong time management skills, and excellent decision-making ability.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or other Human service-related field and at least three years of work experience with children and families. Licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice in Kansas (LMSW, LSCSW, Professional Counselor, etc.), preferred, not required. Preferred: Master's degree from an accredited university in Social Work or related field, which includes the following: Community Counseling, Human Development, Child and Family Development, Applied Family and Youth Studies, Public Health, Health Sciences, Trauma Studies, Sociology/Social Services, Substance Abuse/Addictions, Education/Early Childhood, or Psychology. Must be at least 21 and pass a background check, and physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
