Inventory Control Manager
The Inventory Control Supervisor will ensure that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible in accordance with company procedure. Additionally, the Inventory Control Supervisor will ensure timely transactions are made in the system to support shop workflow and to drive the correct demand signals to procurement and production control.

  • Hires and trains all inventory control personnel (Warehouse, Kitting, and shipping)
  • Oversees the job assignments and activities of Inventory Control staff.
  • Collaborates with management to provide performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
  • Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
  • Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.
  • Communicates with Purchasing Department as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc.
  • Ensures all raw material and hardware are issued to the work order promptly and delivered to the correct machine or work center.
  • Ensures milestones and goals are met.
  • Ensures adherence to approved budget.
  • Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse, kitting, and shipping areas.
  • Operates forklift as needed.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business or other relevant field is required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with progressive responsibility and career advancement in supply chain management for manufacturing operations
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in supervisory leadership role
Other Required Skills and Abilities
  • Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
  • Strong leadership ability: ability to work in team environment.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data
  • Strong leadership ability; ability to work in team environment; experience in handling supplier relationships
  • Good working knowledge and experience of using Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems or similar
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to appropriately handle unexpected challenges
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, securing employee and company records, and demonstrating integrity in communications and actions
  • Self-management skills including efficiency, sense of urgency, ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances, and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines
  • Leadership skills evidenced by talent selection, retention, and personnel development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies including six sigma (certification is preferred), kaizen, lean manufacturing, etc. is preferred
  • Exceptional professional communication skills, both written and verbal (English) are required
  • Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills to include pivot tables, vlookups, charts, graphs, and other formulas preferred
  • Computer proficiency using ERP systems is required; Infor Visual experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, and organizational skills are essential
Physical Demands and Work Environment
To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to perform job duties
  • Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
  • Frequently bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
  • Accurately distinguish colors, letters, and numbers
  • Use hands and fingers to manually inspect, count, and package parts
  • Ability to climb up and down as necessary to board and operate forklift
  • Visual ability to read precise measurements and hardware markings, and to recognize and avoid obstacles to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a manufacturing warehouse environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:
  • Moderate Noise (regularly)
  • Excessive noise, hearing protection required (occasionally)
  • Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally)
  • Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
  • Sharp instruments including box cutters, scissors, and other tools used in stocking and packaging
  • Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment
The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear may be required. This position is classified as safety-sensitive
