Summary: This individual will be responsible for segment planning, strategy, objectives, development, launch, and support for assigned product lines.

Responsibilities: (Technical and Sales)

  • Lead the development and execution of the annual business & marketing plan for assigned segment & associated product lines.
  • Be the subject matter expert for these products, technically, and applications.
  • Responsible for creating pricing strategy for new products or customers, complete price change requests including support information to define strategy & confirm pricing.
  • Develop and manage the timing and implementation of detailed market and sales plans to support new products.
  • Work closely with the product manufacturer to share product development feedback, market and channel needs and wants.
  • Directly handle all quotation functions: sizing, selection, pricing; creating and issuing the quotation document. duties.
  • Develop and communicate marketing and channel strategies to support segment / product sales objectives.
  • Maintain regular contact with the Sales Organization, keeping them up to date on new announcements, providing support materials and emphasizing key areas of focus to support sales objectives.
  • Manage production of all sales support materials, advertising, and promotion plans for assigned segment/product lines.
  • Support assigned products at trade shows, provide input to MARCOM on priorities and key messages for each show.
  • Responsible for competitive intelligence gathering and analysis for designated product line.
  • Responsible for developing and presenting business cases for new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with OEM customer counterparts.
  • Participate in product planning meetings with OEM customers.
  • Ensure website is up to date with current product information. Promote use of social media channels.
  • Manage the development and analysis of market surveys to discover concerns, opportunities, and to define improvement needs.
  • Responsible for segment/product line pricing and profitability.
  • Travel with field sales, train on selling the product, key buying attributes, etc.
  • Create training curriculum for new employees and the sales team, participate in training events as the subject matter expert for assigned products. Lead, manage and develop direct report(s) as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
  • 5 years of industrial sales, marketing, or related background in some/all of the following:
    • Internal gear pump technology is a must
    • Sales/marketing in industrial B to B market
    • Experience in capital equipment sales
  • Computer literacy within Windows environment, proficient in all Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, with excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Must have good people skills and be able to develop good working relationships with the customers, distributors, sales group, staff, etc.
  • Need to have a mechanical/technical aptitude (to be able to describe features/benefits to customers)
  • Must demonstrate assertive leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
